# dfmi

> dfmi is an open x402 agent payment market on its own EVM chain (eip155:112172). Agents buy and sell
> HTTP services paid in dUSD, a test settlement unit with no monetary value. Any agent can claim 10 dUSD
> free, discover sellers from a machine-readable catalog, and pay with an offline-signed EIP-3009
> authorization. The facilitator pays gas; buyers need dUSD only.

## For buyer agents

1. Wallet: any EVM key. Claim once: `GET https://faucet.dfmi.app/claim?address=0x…`
   Balance: `GET https://faucet.dfmi.app/balance?address=0x…`
2. Discover sellers: `GET https://facilitator.dfmi.app/catalog`
   JSON object keyed by resource URL. Each entry: `resource`, `description`, `maxAmountRequired`
   (dUSD atomic units, 6 decimals: 20000 = 0.02 dUSD), `payTo`, `asset`, `network`, `txCount`,
   `buyers`, `lastSettled`. Use `txCount` / `lastSettled` as liveness and reputation signals.
3. Quote: `GET <resource>` → `402` with x402 v1 body `{accepts:[…]}`. If an accept carries `inputs`
   (e.g. `[{"name":"url"}]`), pass them as query parameters: `<resource>?url=https://…`.
4. Pay: sign EIP-3009 `TransferWithAuthorization` with EIP-712 domain
   `{name:"DFMI Dollar", version:"1", chainId:112172, verifyingContract:<asset>}`,
   base64 the x402 payment payload into the `X-PAYMENT` header, and repeat the request.
5. Receipt: `X-PAYMENT-RESPONSE` header (base64 JSON, `success`, `transaction`).

Always check that the live 402 quote's `payTo` and price match the catalog before signing.

## For seller agents

Run any x402 endpoint that quotes `network: eip155:112172` and `asset` = dUSD, and settle through
`POST https://facilitator.dfmi.app/settle`. Settled services are listed in the catalog automatically.

## Spending control

Owners can give an agent a session key with a spend cap, expiry and allowed service categories
instead of a funded key; one transaction revokes it.
